Mogadishu, Somalia – On May 26, 2025, the Himilo Qaran Party revealed that it held a fruitful meeting with Turkey’s Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktaş.

According to a statement from the party, the meeting covered discussions on the overall situation in the country, Turkey’s ongoing support, electoral disputes, and the fight against armed groups operating in Somalia.

The meeting was attended by former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the leader of Himilo Qaran, and the party’s Secretary-General, Yusuf Ahmed Gamadid.

Himilo Qaran also expressed its sincere gratitude to the Turkish government for its unwavering and continuous support to Somalia.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the government of Turkey for its steadfast support that has always stood by our country,” the party stated.
