Abukar OsmanThe President of Hirshabeelle State, Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlaawe), has strongly criticized Member of Parliament Osman Xaadoole, accusing him of attempting to establish illegal checkpoints (roadblocks) in Hirshabeelle territories.Speaking at the opening of the 17th session of the Hirshabeelle Regional Parliament, President Guudlaawe stated that MP Xaadoole had deviated from his constitutional duties and was acting in a way that disrupts security and development in the areas he represents.“There is no MP in the House of the People dreaming of putting up checkpoints across Somalia — none, except MP Osman Xaadoole,” said President Guudlaawe. These accusations are in response to earlier remarks by MP Xaadoole, who accused the president of hindering the fight against Al-Shabaab, particularly in the ongoing operations in the Middle Shabelle region. Xaadoole claimed the president was a barrier to the military’s success. The dispute between the two leaders highlights growing political rifts between regional and federal officials.
