Bal’ad, October 24, 2024 – In a historic milestone for Hirshabelle State, the Council of Ministers has approved its first-ever budget for the fiscal year 2025, totaling $33,557,830.37. The decision was made during an extraordinary session held in Balcad, chaired by President Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Gudlawe).

The budget approval marks a significant step in institutional development and governance for Hirshabelle, as it represents the region’s inaugural comprehensive financial plan. This milestone is expected to lay the foundation for improved public services, enhanced security, and sustainable economic growth across the state.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, who presented the budget allocation law, emphasized its transformative potential. “This is not just a financial plan; it is a blueprint for Hirshabelle’s future. For the first time, we have a structured budget that reflects our state’s priorities and ambitions,” the minister noted.

The approved budget will address several key areas, including increasing civil servant salaries, funding state operations, and supporting ongoing security initiatives to liberate areas under insurgent control. It is also a crucial step toward building financial transparency and accountability within the young administration.

President Ali Gudlawe praised the Council of Ministers for their unified efforts in achieving this historic moment. “The approval of our first budget demonstrates our determination to build a better future for Hirshabelle. It is a reflection of our collective commitment to progress and stability,” he stated.

As Hirshabelle embarks on this new chapter, the $33.5 million budget is seen as a cornerstone for institutional growth and improved governance. It signifies the state’s transition toward structured financial planning and resource allocation to meet the needs of its citizens.
