Kismayo(Mogadishu24)-Jubaland State has issued a stern warning to airline agencies operating in Somalia, advising them against landing in Raskamboni, a port town in the Lower Jubaland region.

The Regional Ministry of Transport and Aviation released a statement citing potential security threats due to heightened tensions between Jubaland and the Federal Government of Somalia.

The Ministry cautioned airlines that they would bear full responsibility for any consequences should they disregard the warning. “This decision is aimed at safeguarding the safety and property of the people,” the Ministry stated, expressing optimism that airlines will comply with the directive.

The warning comes amid escalating tensions between Jubaland and the Federal Government following the re-election of Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam ‘Madobe’ on November 25.

Relations between the two administrations have deteriorated as they remain at odds over electoral processes and governance.

Raskamboni, a key port town, has been a focal point in the ongoing disputes, and the directive underscores the region’s fragility amid the political standoff.
