Kenya has stated that it will continue its cooperation with Jubaland and Somaliland while consulting the Somali government to build diplomatic relations and presence.In a statement issued by the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized that Kenya is committed to enhancing cooperation with both entities while respecting Somalia’s sovereignty.“To advance this cooperation, Kenya will continue its relations and work with the administrations of Jubaland and Somaliland in consultation with the Federal Government of Somalia to establish diplomatic ties and presence that support security and commercial cooperation,” the ministry’s statement said.This announcement comes as Somaliland’s President, Abdilrahman Mohamed Abdullahi ‘Cirro,’ is on a visit to Kenya, where he is expected to hold talks with Kenyan officials, according to the Somaliland presidency.
