Nairobi(Mogadishu24)-Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is actively seeking a suspect identified as Hashim Dagane Muhumed, believed to be behind the brutal murders of three women in Nairobi’s Eastleigh neighborhood.

The victims – Waris Daud, her daughter Amina, and her 12-year-old niece Nuseiba – were abducted from their home on October 21, and their bodies were later found dismembered and scattered in different areas around Nairobi, including Parklands, Bahati, Machakos, and South C.

Investigators revealed that CCTV footage captured Hashim Dagane, 24, driving a Nissan Note (Reg No. KDQ 718Y) seen picking up the victims. The vehicle, found abandoned at Wakulima Market, has been towed to DCI Headquarters for forensic analysis, further linking Dagane to the heinous crime.

One suspect is already in custody and cooperating with the investigation.

Authorities have issued a public appeal for information leading to Dagane’s arrest, urging citizens to contact the DCI through their toll-free hotline 0800 722 203 or report at any police station.

The tragedy has shaken the Eastleigh community, leading to protests demanding justice and greater security. Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna joined the community in mourning, with MP Hassan expressing deep sorrow:

“We gathered with hundreds of people to honour the three women from Eastleigh who were tragically murdered.” He called on police to “swiftly apprehend the perpetrators” and increase patrols to enhance community safety.

The community remains on high alert, with local leaders encouraging residents to stay vigilant and actively work together to protect their neighborhood as authorities continue to investigate the case.
