Beledweyne(Mogadishu24)-A remote-controlled landmine blast killed two people, including a soldier, and injured another at a small makeshift restaurant at Gufale village in Hawa-tako department, in Beledweyne town of Hiiraan region Wednesday.The injured individual, a woman involved in the business, was taken to the main general hospital in the town, eyewitnesses reported.Security forces swiftly responded to the scene, cordoned off the area, and began investigations into the explosion. Local authorities have yet to provide detailed information about the blast.While Al-Shabaab has not claimed responsibility for the attack, Beledweyne has been a frequent target of their operations. The city is also the focal point of ongoing uprisings against Al-Shabaab militants in the eastern parts of the Hiiraan region over the past two years.
