“This modern equipment represents a crucial opportunity to enhance the health services we provide, particularly for liver diseases which often require thorough examination,” said Professor Sonderup. “It will also reduce the need for patients to travel long distances to other cities for specialized services.”

According to hospital authorities, this equipment will also facilitate the early detection of liver diseases, crucial for early intervention and prevention of severe conditions. The hospital’s administration noted that this development would decrease the burden on other healthcare facilities in the region and improve the quality of life for patients.

Sheikh Hassan Yabarow Hospital offers a wide range of health services, including dialysis and pediatric care, benefiting over 1,500 patients monthly. Additionally, the hospital has partnerships with specialized surgery centers to expand services like cardiac surgery and other specialized procedures.

“These ongoing efforts to enhance health services are part of our broader program to improve public healthcare,” added the hospital’s administration. “This new equipment allows us to effectively address liver diseases, which are prevalent in the region.”

This advancement comes at a time when the Somali Regional State is intensifying efforts to improve healthcare services across the region, hoping that this step is a significant move towards achieving accessible, high-quality healthcare for all.
