Nairobi(Mogadishu24)-Minister of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr Ali Adam Abubakar attended high-level ministerial meeting on Enhancing Cross-sectoral and Cross-border Cooperation for Health Security through Implementing a One Health Approach to Improve Health, Prosperity, and Well-being in the Horn of Africa.“I chaired the conclusion of the high-level Ministerial meeting on ‘Enhancing trade links and economic empowerment across borders, considering a One Health approach for improved health security’ between Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia in Nairobi“, the Minister said on X this morning. He said that the Ministers and representatives from those countries agreed to strengthen their collobaration regarding to response and resilience to cross-border health emergencies in their region. “Through productive discussions, we have agreed on actionable recommendations and collaborative processes to strengthen preparedness, response and resilience to cross-border health emergencies in our region”, he added.Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu said in the meeting that their collective efforts aimed to fortify lives within the IGAD region, saying Enhancing trade and economic empowerment through the ONE HEALTH approach will pave the way for improved health security.
