Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somalia’s Federal Ministry of Education has on Saturday launched National Exam 2023-2024 school where more than 37,000 Students in the central and southern parts of the country sat for the exam.“Today marks a significant milestone for the Somali people as we affirm one of our greatest goals: prioritizing education. Just as we prioritize security, we see education as a critical objective for our nation. During the exam period, we should all support the Ministry of Education and work together to ensure the success of these examinations, standing united like soldiers in this important endeavor”, Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre said while opening the exam after distributing copy of the exam to students in Mogadishu.Barre praised the Ministry of Education for its innovative exam system and emphasised the critical significance of education in shaping a promising future for the country, calling upon the public to unite in supporting the students throughout the examination period.The Federal Ministry of Education only managed to take Secondary School exams from the students in Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Benadir region, Southwest, Jubaland States and SCC-Khatumo State for the first time in more than three decades. Puntland State, Somaliland and other areas under Al-Shabaab control were excluded. The two autonomies administer their own education system while there is no formal education in areas under the group.
