Hargeisa, Somaliland(Mogadishu24)-President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland has accepted the results of the November 13 presidential and parties elections, congratulating opposition leader Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Irro” on his victory.

“Congratulations to President-elect Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi on your victory. I pledge my full support for a smooth transition of power. May your tenure bring peace, progress, and enduring success to our beloved nation,” Bihi said in a statement on Wednesday.

He also expressed gratitude to Somaliland citizens for the opportunity to serve as president, reaffirming his commitment to the nation’s progress. “While my term comes to an end, my commitment to the betterment of our nation remains steadfast. Let us stand united and work together for the prosperity of Somaliland,” Bihi added.

The elections, praised by Somalia and international partners for their peaceful and democratic conduct, saw over 1.2 million voters elect a president, deputy, and political parties for the next five years. President-elect Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi’s victory marks a significant milestone in Somaliland’s democratic journey.
