Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Somali Police have arrested two men in relation to an explosion that occurred in Mogadishu’s Dayniile district on Saturday, the Police Spokesperson Sadik Aden Ali Dodishe confirmed.The spokesperson stated that the two men were driving a car filled with explosives intended to harm the public.“The police officers on patrol in Dayniile district came across a vehicle filled with explosives after they suspected the vehicle. They arrested two suspects who are now being interrogated by the police,” said Sadik Dodishe, the Somali Police Spokesperson.He added that the explosion happened after the arrest of the two men, stating that there were no casualties among the Army members who thwarted the plot and civilians who were present at the scene.“The explosion occurred after the arrest two men involved in the incident. There were no casualties among the police officers who failed the plot or the civilians near the location where the car exploded. The two suspects will be brought before the court to face justice,” he added.The spokesman informed the media that an investigation is underway to determine the car’s origin and how it arrived there, and information will be shared with the public upon completion.Al-Shabaab militants have increased their attacks in Mogadishu, which aimed to divert the attention of the government’s ongoing offensive operations against them.These recent Al-Shabaab attacks come at a time when the Federal Government of Somalia intensified its offensive war against the militants group, with a specific focus on the Galmudug region during the second phase of the campaign.
