By Asha ElmiHARGEISA – The President of Somaliland, Cabdiraxmaan Maxamed Cabdillaahi Cirro, has confirmed that his recent trip to Kenya was a success, discussing the positive outcomes of his visit and the strengthening of ties between Somaliland and Kenya.Speaking upon his return to Hargeisa, President Cirro described the trip as historic, noting the warm reception he received from Kenyan political leaders, especially President William Ruto, along with other government officials.President Cirro emphasized the significance of the Kenya visit for Somaliland, noting that his meeting with international representatives was one of the most successful during his time in Nairobi. He mentioned that the international community had praised Somaliland for its peace-building efforts in regions previously affected by conflict, as well as for the successful completion of its elections.“Among the things that the world acknowledges Somaliland for are the recent elections, security stabilization, and the integration of our military, which the world views as a major achievement. Ceel-afweyn and the world are aware that we have established peace,” said President Cirro.He added that the international community has urged Somaliland to continue safeguarding peace while maintaining unity and cohesion among its people.Furthermore, President Cirro stated that he would soon visit Ethiopia, emphasizing the importance of strengthening regional cooperation in security and economic affairs.
