Hargeisa — The President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), departed today for Djibouti, where he has commenced an official three-day state visit.According to a statement from the Somaliland Presidency’s media office, President Cirro received a formal invitation from his counterpart in Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh. During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold focused discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two sides.President Cirro is accompanied by several members of his cabinet and senior government officials who will participate in the bilateral talks.The presidency statement emphasized that the summit between the two presidents will specifically concentrate on enhancing the ties and cooperation between Somaliland and Djibouti.The Government of Djibouti warmly welcomed President Cirro’s visit, describing it as an important step to reinforce the friendship and collaboration between the two nations.“I am very pleased to welcome the President of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Cirro. Djibouti and Somaliland are like two branches of the same tree, brothers created by God, and we must always maintain cooperation and unity,” said the Djibouti Minister of Finance.This visit marks President Cirro’s first trip to Djibouti since his election as President of Somaliland.
