Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud officially laid the foundation stone for the Pearl Beach (Xeebta-Luulka) modern village in Mogadishu’s Kaaraan district on Monday, marking a significant investment by Somali traders.The project is seen as a symbol of Somalia’s ongoing recovery and a step towards reshaping the country’s statehood and economic landscape.During the ceremony, President Mohamud emphasized that the execution of the Pearl Beach project is an important indicator of Somalia’s resurgence after years of hardship. He pointed out that such initiatives are essential to projecting a new image of Somalia, both domestically and globally.The President instructed all government institutions to support Somali entrepreneurs in ensuring the project’s success, urging collaboration between the private sector and the government.“Building this village is the beginning of a new Somalia, one that is reshaping its statehood while competing on the global stage. I urge Somali traders to trust their country and support the government by fulfilling their tax obligations, as this is key to recovering from the difficulties we’ve faced,” President Mohamud said.He also expressed gratitude to Somali businesspeople for their confidence in the country, acknowledging their critical role in investing in productive projects that benefit the nation.
