Jigjiga(Mogadishu24)-President of Somali Regional State of Ethiopia, Mustafe Mohamed Omer launched underground water services projects in key cities including the capital of Jigjiga, aiming to enhance social developments in the region.The State ministers and delegation from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) joined the President on the launching event of the second such development projects and observed ongoing water well drilling at Fafan neighborhood in the city which is under completion as cleaning and development is under way now.President Mustafe also held separate talks with officials from IGAD and discussed on issues, addressing challenges of water scarcity in the region due to routine droughts, population growth and climate changes and ways to find lasting solution for over 40 million people in the east of Africa a day earlier according to the regional communication office.He said that his Government put emphasis on increasing water coverage which was below 47 percent earlier and still planning to make it possible for the society to access clean water.
