Dhusamareb, Galmudug State, Somalia – President Ahmed Abdi Karie of the Galmudug State Government has laid the foundation stone for a new building that will serve as the headquarters for the Ministry of Interior and Reconciliation. The development is a significant step in enhancing administrative capacity and governance within the state.

The ceremony was attended by key federal and state officials, including Federal Minister of Interior and Reconciliation, MP Ali Yusuf Ali-Hosh, who praised the project as a pivotal development for the region. “Today, we laid the foundation for the Ministry of Interior headquarters for the Galmudug State Government. The building will include a G+1 structure and a large conference hall. This is a project that will greatly enhance the ministry’s operations, which are critical for the region. The Federal Ministry of Interior remains fully committed to supporting this initiative,” the Minister remarked.

President Ahmed Abdi Karie (Qoor Qoor) underscored the importance of the project in strengthening governance and advancing the state’s developmental goals. “Today marks another milestone in our ongoing efforts for progress and reconstruction. We have laid the foundation for a vital building that will serve as the hub for the Ministry of Interior in Galmudug. While the ministry has operated from temporary offices in the past, this new facility will comprehensively address its operational needs,” he said.

The new headquarters is designed to significantly improve the Ministry of Interior’s ability to manage essential functions, including internal administration and reconciliation processes. It also represents a broader commitment to strengthening public institutions and enhancing service delivery in Galmudug State.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Somali Federal Government and regional administrations to build sustainable governance structures and foster stability and development across the country.
