Bosaso: The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources of Puntland, Abdirisak Abdulahi Hagaa, met on 28th April with a team of experts from EDCONS, a consulting firm based in Kenya.

The meeting focused on the construction of a new market for fishermen in the city of Bosaso, as outlined by the Ministry of Fisheries.

The Minister received an introductory report from the experts, who will conduct an evaluation and study on the design of the new fishing market.

According to a statement from the ministry, Minister Xagaa emphasized that strong efforts will be made to ensure the establishment of a modern market with the cooperation of Bosaso’s fishing associations.

“The Minister instructed the experts to base their studies on the real needs of the fishermen,” the ministry’s statement read.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Information of Puntland, Maxamuud Caydiid Dirir, the Director-General of the Puntland Presidency, Maxamed Jaamac, and other officials.
