GARAS MAGAN, SOMALIA — Somali National Army and local forces conducted a planned operation in the Garas Magan area, situated between Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions, targeting Al-Shabaab militants.According to an official military statement, the operation successfully struck key members of the extremist group. Forces reportedly eliminated several militants and dismantled critical hideouts dug into the terrain, disrupting Al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities in the area.“This attack specifically targeted Garas Magan, a strategic location between Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle, where our troops directly engaged and defeated gatherings of the extremist militia,” the military statement said.The operation forms part of intensified security efforts to stabilize the region and combat Al-Shabaab’s insurgency.
