Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi officially received the credentials of Mr. Manuel Marques Pereira, the new International Organization for Migration (IOM) Chief of Mission to Somalia. The meeting highlighted shared priorities in fostering Somalia’s development and stabilization efforts.During the discussions, Ambassador Fiqi emphasized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ initiative to establish a Diaspora Centre aimed at engaging and supporting over 4 million Somalis abroad. The Centre is expected to enhance diaspora contributions to national progress.The Foreign Minister also commended IOM’s Stabilization Projects, which are designed to reconnect government services to areas recently liberated from Al-Shabaab. The projects align with Somalia’s broader goals of reconstruction and development.The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to impactful partnerships, expressing optimism about working closely with IOM to achieve shared objectives for Somalia’s stability and advancement.
