The Somali commando forces, Danab, supported by Jubaland security forces, have conducted a carefully planned operation in the Kaam-Jiroon area of Lower Juba region, a strategic stronghold long controlled by Al-Shabaab.

According to official government, the operation resulted in the killing of two senior Al-Shabaab commanders along with five members of their personal security detail.

The deceased leaders have been identified as Rooble Xasan, the Al-Shabaab emir for the Kaam-Jiroon area, and an individual known by the alias Maadeey, who served as the group’s financial chief in the Wayaanta area of western Lower Juba.

“A meticulously organized mission led to the elimination of two high-ranking terrorists and five of their personal guards,” the military voice media said.

In addition to neutralizing key figures, the Somali government reported the destruction of significant Al-Shabaab facilities used for storing weapons and military supplies.

Officials further indicated that ongoing operations are underway targeting Al-Shabaab militants in other locations across western Lower Juba, focusing on sites believed to be hiding members of the insurgent group.

This latest operation follows a similar strike days earlier, when Danab and Jubaland forces killed other high-value Al-Shabaab operatives in the Barjalla area.
