Nairobi(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sh. Mohamud on Saturday held talks with his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto in Nairobi on enhancing bilateral relations and regional stability.

“President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with his Kenyan counterpart, President@WilliamsRuto. During a tete-a-tete meeting held at State House, Nairobi, the two leaders discussed further enhancing the multi-faceted Somalia-Kenya strategic partnership, underpinned by a shared interest in promoting regional stability and prosperity”, Office of the Somalia President said on X.

President Hassan Sh. Mohamud travelled to Kenya yesterday after receiving invitation from Kenyan President, Ruto, it is not yet known how long will Hassan’s visit to Nairobi take and what their discussion focus exactly, but the two sides commented on the same way.

“Our collaboration with the government of the Republic of Somalia is bearing fruit. The region is witnessing greater peace and stability. We commit to grow this relationship. Hosted Somalia President @HassanSMohamud, @StateHouseKenya, Nairobi”, Kenyan President, William Ruto said on X.

But Kenyan President, Ruto is pushing Somalia to withdraw its candidacy for the race of the African Union Commission leadership. Kenya wants Raila Odinga for the AU seat by hook and crook.

This is third time that President Hassan paid a visit to Nairobi, Kenya during a month.
