The session of the Somali Parliament’s Lower House, which was scheduled for today, has been canceled.

Members of Parliament were notified last night about the cancellation of today’s session. A message shared with MPs and the media confirmed that today’s session would not take place.

The official reason for the cancellation of the session has not been revealed.

Monday’s session of Parliament proceeded as planned, during which the first reading of the agreement establishing the IGAD regional bloc was held.

The Somali Parliament typically holds sessions three days a week: Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. This week, the Parliament held two sessions, but today’s third session has been canceled.
