Baidoa(Mogadishu24)-The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, sent a heartfelt and encouraging message dedicated to the Somali National Army and the local community forces, known as ‘Macawisley,’ on Wednesday.

In a pre-recorded video published by the state-owned media, the president acknowledged the challenges that the frontline forces encounter and promised them his support in the fight against Al-Shabaab.

“I am sending my first message to the esteemed members of the National Defence Forces and the Macawisley Community Defense Forces who stand bravely at the forefront of our fight against Al-Shabaab. I promised before and fulfilled it, and now I reiterate my commitment: I will stand beside you on the frontlines sharing our challenges and joy as we march towards victory,” said President Hassan sheikh.

The president emphasized the great role and dedication of the forces, highlighting that their achievements will be historically remembered.

“Dedicated soldiers, the Somali nation stands and will rises by the foundation you have built. Our sovereignty thrives on your continuous efforts and dedication. The sacrifices of our forbearers weigh heavily on your shoulders. You carry the trust and hopes that many people laid their lives for. You are the shining beacon for more than 20 million Somalis and for upcoming generations whose future is intricately linked to the victories you achieve on the battlefield,” the president said.

He added, “I vow to rally our people behind you, ensuring their support and companions for you. Through your efforts our people sleep peacefully at night.”

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State, to accelerate the fight against Al-Shabaab and motivate the frontline forces. He also visited parts of the Hiiraan region to meet with the frontline forces and resolve disputes between the leaders of the Hiiraan region and the officials of the Hirshabelle State.
