Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)–Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received the credentials of Mr. Wang Yu, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, during a formal ceremony at Villa Somalia on Wednesday. The new ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to President Mohamud, marking the official start of his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud urged Ambassador Wang Yu to strengthen the cooperation between Somalia and China, particularly in the areas of economic development, trade, and security.

The President emphasized the importance of enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations to foster mutual growth and stability.

President Mohamud commended the ambassador for his commitment to deepening the ties between Somalia and China and highlighted the significance of continued collaboration in advancing the shared interests of both countries.

Ambassador Wang Yu expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Somalia for their warm welcome. He conveyed greetings and a message from Chinese President Xi Jinping, underscoring China’s dedication to further strengthening the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
