Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sh. Mohamud travelled to Eritrea for talks with his counterpart, Isaias Afwerki on enhancing cooperation between the two countries and regional stability, the Presidency confirmed.

Eritrea has trained and equipped over 10,000 Somali soldiers, including specialized forces, who will play vital roles in our future national army, naval forces, and air forces according to the President.

This is the second time in this new year that the President visits Asmara, Eritrea since the Memorandum of Understanding between Ethiopia and Somaliland emerged, leasing 20 kilometers of sea access to Ethiopia which resulted in tension in the region.
