Harardhere(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Monday paid a visit to frontlines including Harardhere town in Mudug region and Ceel-dheer town in Galgudud region under Galmudug State in Somalia to encourage the army to speeding up offensive operations against Al-Shabaab.“President @HassanSMohamud visited the districts of El-Dher and Haradhere, inspecting the government-led stabilization efforts. The President met with army commanders, commending the SNA’s resolute commitment in the ongoing offensive aimed at eliminating international terrorists”, Office the Presidency said.The President praised the Somali National Army for making sacrifice in defending the people and country from Al-Shabaab militants who are involved in the bloodshed and destruction of Somali people’s properties, and awarded the soldiers in Harardhere town with military ranks according to a statement.Hassan mentioned that the struggle of the offensive operation against Al-Shabaab is at ending point, saying the history will mark heroes martyred and others who are still pursuing to eradicate the terrorists.“Our country is on the path of the development, economic growth which you made it possible as you defend the country day and night”, President Hassan said, commending the role of residents in Harardhere town in Mudug region.The President also reached Ceel-dheer town and delivered the same message to the public and army stationed there and urged to redouble their efforts to liberating areas under Al-Shabaab.Galmudug State President, his Minister of Defense, Members of the Federal Parliament and SNA Army Chief were accompanying President Hassan’s visit to Harardhere and Ceel-dheer town under Galmudug State. These two towns were among several towns liberated from Al-Shabaab control a year.Al-Shabaab militants recaptured several key areas including towns in this region in March alone after SNA forces withdrew them without any resistance from the group fighters.
