Abukar OsmanMAKKAH, Saudi Arabia – The Federal Government of Somalia has issued a formal advisory to Somali pilgrims participating in this year’s Hajj, urging them to strictly adhere to Saudi Arabia’s regulations and the instructions of the Somali Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.Khadar Haji Dahir, Head of the Hajj Affairs Office at the Ministry, addressed the pilgrims in Makkah, cautioning them against bringing unauthorized items or violating local Hajj laws, which could result in delays and serious consequences.“We strongly warn Somali pilgrims against carrying any prohibited items that could cause delays or lead to legal issues,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of complying with all official directives to ensure smooth and peaceful participation in the pilgrimage.He also reminded pilgrims of the critical role of the Hajj card, which serves as their official identification and access to essential services. “Pilgrims must always keep their Hajj cards safe. Losing them could cause significant problems,” he noted.Khadar concluded his remarks by expressing gratitude to Somali Hajj agencies and operators working in Saudi Arabia, encouraging them to continue their efforts to ensure Somali pilgrims complete their journey in safety and dignity.
