Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somalia’s Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) announced on Saturday the receipt of ambulances and firefighting vehicle provided through the World Bank’s Somalia Crisis Recovery Project. The vehicles aim to strengthen emergency response efforts across the country.Speaking to the media, SODMA Chairman Mohamud Moalim Abdulle highlighted the significance of the newly acquired equipment in serving the Somali people during crises. He emphasized that the vehicles would be used to assist communities facing emergencies and disasters.Chairman Abdulle also revealed plans to establish emergency response centers in regional states, ensuring that critical services and rapid assistance can reach vulnerable populations across Somalia.This initiative marks an important step in building Somalia’s resilience to natural and man-made disasters, improving the country’s capacity to respond to emergencies effectively.
