Exam Students

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Ministry of Education of Somalia has announced the results of the national secondary school exams, with 33,668 out of 36,034 students passing. However, 2,905 students failed the exam, including those caught cheating.

Minister of Education Farah Sheikh Abdukadir, while announcing the results, emphasized the need for continuous improvement in the education system.

“The results highlight disparities in school performance, teacher quality, and the efforts made by different regions. We are committed to raising the standards of underperforming schools, and those that cannot meet our minimum standards will no longer be allowed to operate below the expected educational level,” he said.

The Minister also mentioned plans to enhance the quality and qualifications of schools, teachers, and locations. The exam was conducted across four Federal Member States—Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Southwest, and Jubaland—as well as in the Benadir region.

Puntland State administered its own exams independently, reflecting ongoing disagreements with the Federal Government of Somalia over the education system.
