Nairobi, Kenya – The President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), arrived in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, in the late hours of May 26, 2025.Upon his arrival at Nairobi International Airport, President Cirro was warmly received by Kenya’s Minister of Mining and Blue Economy, Hassal Ali Joho.According to Somaliland’s Presidency, during his stay in Nairobi, President Cirro will engage in talks with the Kenyan government, led by President William Ruto, focusing on bilateral cooperation.The President will also meet with international agencies and embassies based in Kenya to discuss economic, security, strategic, and diplomatic matters.The Presidency of Somaliland further stated that President Cirro is set to inaugurate a new building, which will serve as Somaliland’s embassy in Nairobi.“During his visit to Nairobi, the President of Somaliland will officially open a modern new building that will house the Republic of Somaliland’s Embassy in Kenya,” said the statement from the Presidency.President Cirro’s visit comes at a time when Kenya has reaffirmed its continued cooperation with Jubaland and Somaliland while consulting with the Somali federal government to strengthen diplomatic relations and presence in the region.
