Hargeisa(Mogadishu24)-In a landmark moment for Somaliland’s democratic progress, President-elect Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro) visited the Presidential Palace on Saturday for a meeting with outgoing President Muse Bihi Abdi.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful transfer of power following the November 13 election.

President Muse Bihi Abdi, who welcomed Irro at the palace, pledged full support for a smooth transition, emphasizing the importance of upholding Somaliland’s constitutional processes. He wished the President-elect success in his five-year term ahead.

President-elect Abdirahman Irro expressed gratitude to Muse Bihi for his leadership and service to the nation, vowing to build on previous achievements and address pressing national priorities. Both leaders called for continued collaboration and underscored the need for unity as Somaliland moves forward.

Over 1.2 million Somalilanders participated in the election, which marked a significant democratic milestone for the region. The meeting concluded with a message of hope, urging citizens to support ongoing efforts to promote peace, democracy, and progress.
