Hargeysa(Mogadishu24)-The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, on Monday received a French delegation led by Arnaud Suquet, the French Ambassador to Kenya, to discuss strengthening cooperation between Somaliland and France.

Key topics included support for development projects in healthcare, protection of historical sites, culture, and livestock development. The discussions also covered Somaliland’s upcoming elections on November 13, security issues, and maintaining stability in the Horn of Africa.

The President was joined by ministers and representatives from various Somaliland ministries and officials, while the French delegation included political and economic advisors.

Ambassador Suquet did not provide further details on his visit, which comes amid heightened political activity as Somaliland prepares for its elections, and as recent praise from Denmark, Sweden, and the UK recognized Somaliland’s commitment to holding free and fair elections.
