Hargeisa, Somaliland – The President of Somaliland has ordered all regional governors to enhance peace, strengthen community-government relations, and promote unity.President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), held a meeting yesterday with Somaliland’s regional governors to reinforce governance, public services, and development. The discussion focused on sharing insights, accelerating government operations, ensuring stability, improving service delivery, and addressing key priorities for Somaliland.The President urged the governors to promote the unity of Somaliland citizens and work towards stability and progress. He emphasized that they represent the WADAJIR IYO WAXQABAD administration and must make the people aware of the government’s role in Somaliland’s development.“Governors must listen to the concerns of the people they serve, resolve conflicts, and strengthen the connection between the government and the citizens,” President Cirro stated.He also instructed the governors to ensure that all citizens receive equal justice and government services without political bias, thereby fostering unity and peace.“The old mindset of ‘this party supports the government while the other opposes it’ must be abandoned. Every citizen should feel that we are their leaders,” Cirro added.This meeting comes after President Cirro previously issued a presidential decree establishing the Somaliland Peace Committee, an independent body dedicated to promoting peace, resolving conflicts, and fostering reconciliation among communities. The President stated that the committee’s goal is to create a peaceful environment based on dialogue, mutual understanding, and public participation to ensure lasting peace that leads to comprehensive development.
