Baidoa(Mogadishu24)-On Saturday, Southwest State President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed ‘Lafta-gareen’ convened a special meeting with senators and members of the Federal Parliament representing Southwest State, just one day after Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre left Baidoa.The meeting reiterated Southwest State’s stance on the controversial issue surrounding the residents of Hudur, who recently expressed support for the presence of Ethiopian troops and rejected the inclusion of Egyptian forces in the new African Union mission in Somalia.President Lafta-gareen commended the 25 members of Parliament who defended the Hudur residents’ position, despite facing accusations of treason for aligning with Ethiopia. He emphasized the importance of standing with their constituents and ensuring that their voices are heard in national debates.During the meeting, President Lafta-gareen and the MPs discussed ongoing political developments, security issues, and community development in Southwest State.
