Port Sudan(Mogadishu24)- Sudan’s potential return to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is under discussion after Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, received a message from Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh.The letter, delivered by Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, addressed the importance of Sudan rejoining IGAD, following its suspension due to disagreements over the bloc’s handling of Sudan’s internal crisis.During the meeting, al-Burhan emphasized that Sudan’s re-engagement with IGAD would depend on the organization correcting its past mistakes. Both sides agreed to further explore the terms of Sudan’s return, which Djibouti, as IGAD’s current chair, strongly supports.
