Nairobi(Mogadishu24)-Former President of the Somalia’s Transitional Federal Government, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed announced that the talks between him and the incumbent President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamed in Nairobi, Kenya ended in a failure.

President Sharif said in a statement on Friday night that their discussions focused on pressing issues like:- The Constitution, Political issues and the future of the country, and the conflict between the Federal Government of Somalia and Puntland State.

He said community leaders voluntarily tried to broker negations aimed at narrowing their differences regarding to the above mentioned issues, but did not bring solution, underscoring the importance of safeguarding the unity of the Somali people and country.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud did not comment on community elders’ efforts for the talks between him and President Sharif in Nairobi yet so far, but President was in Nairobi for one working visit there and held meeting with his counterpart, William Ruto.
