SoohoydeThe Police Command of the SSC-Khaatumo administration has officially announced the complete suspension of vehicle movement within Laascaanood city, effective from midnight of the previous night. This directive is part of broader security preparations in anticipation of the official visit by the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre.According to a press statement issued by the Police Command, no vehicles will be allowed to enter the city through the major checkpoints. Only vehicles transporting government officials will be exempted from the ban. The enforcement is being carried out by the SSC Police, in collaboration with the security organizing committee tasked with preparing for the Prime Minister’s visit.Furthermore, the statement includes a special order targeting public transport vehicles, particularly tuk-tuks (commonly known as “bajaaj”), prohibiting them from using certain key roads within the city — especially the Wadnaha Road, a main thoroughfare in Laascaanood.The SSC-Khaatumo Police Commander emphasized that this order will remain in force until a new directive is issued.
