SADAT Defense Consultancy Training Somali Armed Forces

Mogadishu, Somalia – Turkish defense consultancy firm SADAT, renowned for its expertise in defense and military strategy, has officially expressed its readiness to provide specialized training and strategic advisory services to the Somali National Armed Forces, particularly Somalia’s elite units.

In a statement issued on April 4, 2025, SADAT announced its willingness to offer high-level training programs and advisory support tailored to special operations, urban combat, facility security, VIP protection, counterterrorism, and border security.

“We are prepared to deliver in-demand training services for Somalia’s special forces, particularly in areas such as special operations, urban warfare, VIP protection, and counterterrorism,” the statement read.

SADAT also offered strategic and structural advisory support to enhance Somalia’s aerial operations capability, with the aim of building a more effective and operationally capable air defense system to support national security efforts.

The firm affirmed its openness to visiting Somalia upon invitation from the Ministry of Defense to provide a comprehensive presentation of its services and demonstrate how its programs could directly contribute to Somalia’s defense development.

Rebuttal of Paramilitary Allegations

In addition, SADAT categorically denied recent allegations circulating on Somali media and social platforms that it had deployed paramilitary forces to Somalia.

“SADAT does not, under any circumstances, provide paramilitary services or deploy salaried personnel,” the company emphasized.

The firm reiterated that its operations are strictly limited to strategic consultancy and defense training, and that it opposes paramilitary activity, which it regards as “acts of terrorism.”

The statement affirmed SADAT’s adherence to legal, ethical defense practices and dismissed the reports as false information intended to mislead the public and damage the company’s reputation.

This move underscores SADAT’s growing interest in strengthening security cooperation with African states, particularly in fragile regions like Somalia where professional defense partnerships are seen as critical to long-term peace and stability.
