Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-United States of America, the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development(IGAD) and other International Partners strongly condemned Al-Shabaab’s attack on SYL Hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia on Thursday night, causing heavy casualties.“Our condolences go out to the bereaved families, and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks. We commend the Somali Security Forces for their swift response in neutralising the attackers and saving lives”, African Union Special Representative for Somalia, Ambassador Mohamed El-Amine Souef said in a statement.Ambassador Soup added that the cowardly acts by Al Shabaab militants will not deter their collective resolve to ensure a peaceful, safe, secure, and stable Somalia.“@US2Somalia condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on the SYL Hotel in Mogadishu. Such reprehensible acts of terrorism only strengthen our resolve to combat extremism in all its forms,” said the Executive Secretary.Al-Shabaab militants carried out suicide car bomb attacks then its fighters sieged Hotel SYL on Thursday night and fighting between them and Somali Security forces lasted more than 15 hours to come to an end, killing at least three and injuring about 30 others members of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.
