A De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft operated by the United Nations carrying 22 passengers made an emergency landing at Mogadishu airport using its belly after the nose landing gear failed to deploy.The incident occurred around 1:30 PM local Mogadishu time. The aircraft had taken off earlier from Aden Abdulle International Airport, en route to the city of Baidoa in Southwest Somalia.The Somali Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the aircraft safely executed the belly landing. Authorities further confirmed there were no injuries among the passengers and crew, and damage to the aircraft was minimal.Officials added they are currently working to remove the aircraft from the runway and pledged to restore normal airport operations within three hours.
