New York(Mogadishu24)-United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary A. DiCarlo, met with Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed in New York to discuss peace and security challenges in the Horn of Africa.

DiCarlo shared the update on X, noting the importance of addressing regional tensions.

According to Eritrea’s Information Minister, Osman Saleh has held a series of extensive and fruitful talks on multilateral issues of mutual interest and enhancement of bilateral cooperation with, among others during United Nations Assembly.

The meeting comes amidst escalating tensions between several countries in the region, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, and Egypt, despite ongoing efforts to resolve these issues.
