The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, has officially appointed the National Committee for Supporting the War Against Al-Shabaab and ISIS, who are active in various parts of the country.
The newly formed committee is expected to enhance support for the Somali National Armed Forces and is chaired by the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Cabdisalaan Cabdi Cali.
The committee consists of seven members:

• Cali Yuusuf Cali (Xoosh) – Member
• Bashiir Maxamed Jaamac – Member
• Cali Xaaji Aadan – Member
• Maxamed Cali Xaga – Member
• Maxamed Axmed Amiir – Member
• Maxamuud Macalin Xasan – Member
  The appointment of this committee comes after Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced on March 23 that his government would fully shift its focus to the frontlines of the war in order to align with intensified military operations against Al-Shabaab.
  The conflict between the Somali Federal Government and the group Al-Shabaab has intensified in recent weeks. The government has announced plans to increase both aerial and ground attacks targeting the group. On the other hand, Al-Shabaab has also increased its assaults on government-held positions in the Shabelle regions.
