Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army backed by the International Partners killed 9 Al-Shabaab militants and injured 10 others after conducting joint operations in areas under Galgudud and Middle Shabelle regions in south-central Somalia.

Somalia’s Ministry of Information said in a statement Wednesday that the first operation targeted four of the militants aboard on water tank vehicle at Cali Heele at the border while the second one hit to group’s base at Baraag Sheikh Caamir in Galgudud region.

The Ministry said that the joint forces destroyed Al-Shabaab vehicles and ammunitions, saying that the Government was closely monitoring the group’s movement in the country.

Al-Shabaab did not comment on today’s claims of military gains against them, but it said that their fighters injured 13 SNA soldiers in a landmine blast attack near Harardhere district in southern Mudug region under Galmugud State yesterday, Tuesday.
