Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The cabinet Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia have on Thursday approved important bills and committees proposed by various government ministries.During their weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the cabinet approved the Labour Bill proposed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, which will improve the employees’ status and rights of both public and private sectors.“The Cabinet Ministers has approved the Somali Labour Bill, as proposed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. This bill holds the potential to bring about substantial changes in the status and employment rights of both government employees and those in private companies,” reads the statement from the Office of the Prime Minister.Furthermore, the Council of Ministers approved the Executive Committee for the National Statistics Agency, presented by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development. This committee, comprised of eight members, aims to accelerate organizational activities and large-scale projects and to finalize regulations for establishing a high-quality management committee.The meeting also addressed other critical issues in the country including updates on the nation’s security, taxation, sports, and Hajj-related matters, with reports on these topics presented by the Ministries of Internal Security, Defence, Finance, as well as Religious Affairs.
