Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-A high-level parliamentary delegation from Djibouti, led by the President of the Djibouti National Assembly, Mohamed Dileita Mohamed, was received by the Ethiopian President, Sahle-Work Zewde, on Sunday as part of their four-day official trip to Ethiopia.The discussion between the presidents and the delegation mainly focused on bilateral relations and cooperation between the Federal Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of Djibouti.“A delegation led by the President of the National Assembly of Djibouti, Hon Dileita Mohamed Dileita paid a courtesy visit to President Sahle-Work Zewde. They discussed the multifaceted relations between the two brotherly countries,” Ethiopian Presidency said.“It is to be recalled that the President served as ambassador to Djibouti for 10 years. Hon Dileita was ambassador to Ethiopia.” added the statement.The leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening collaborations in key areas between the two nations, including the promotion of peace and stability, development, trade, and investments.The Djiboutian delegation, led by the President of the National Assembly, Dileita Mohamed Dileita, included the Chairman of the Djibouti-Ethiopian Friendship Committee, Hon. Omar Said, Ali Abdi Farah, Aisha Mohamed Abdalla, Salah Ali Amakaak, Idriss Ahmed Arawe, and the Director of Protocols for the National Assembly, Ms. Khadra Mohamud Ahmed.A team from the president’s office, including the President’s Chief of Staff Idriss Mohamed Ahmed, and Mahdi Mohamud Ahmed, the Director of Communications for the President, along with the Ambassador of Djibouti in Ethiopia, Abdi Mahamoud Eybe, also accompanied the delegation.The delegation visited the new Djibouti Embassy in Ethiopia, inaugurated by President Ismail Omar Guelleh. At the embassy, the delegation held discussions with Djiboutian diplomats in Ethiopia.During his visit, the President of the National Assembly met with his Ethiopian counterpart to discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.Djibouti’s Parliamentary President, Dileita Mohamed Dileita, also addressed the Ethiopian Parliament, reiterating Djibouti’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and diplomatic ties with Ethiopia.Djibouti and Ethiopia have strong mutual ties and agreements in key areas such as regional development, infrastructure like the Djibouti-Addis-Kampala corridor, and contributions to regional peace in the Horn of Africa.Earlier this month, Djibouti strengthened diplomatic ties and inter-parliamentary cooperation with Kenya during the visit of the Kenyan Parliamentary Speaker, Moses Wetangula, to the Djibouti Parliament.
