Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Al-Shabaab militant group on Monday said that it has executed four men accusing of spying for the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency(CIA)who conducted airstrike and coordinated attacks on residential area in lower Shabelle region.

The execution of the Somali men took place at public area in Kunya-Barow town in lower Shabelle region, one of the most populated town during group’s control for almost a decade.

The group identified the four as Mohamed Yusuf Mohamed, Ali Abdukadir Ali, Abdullahi Hussein Hassan and Abas Ali Sh. Mohamud.

These developments came as the fighting between the Somali National Army backed by the U.S forces and Al-Shabaab is sporadically taking place in the south and central parts of the country with claims of progress of this long war.
