Kismayo(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army’s elite forces, Danab Unit and Jubaland State forces on Monday captured Bula-haji area about 80 kilometers southwest of Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubaland State in Somalia.

The SNA Commander in the region, Arab Dheeg told reporters that the operation is still continuing and pursuing Al-Shabaab militants fleeing the area which was a key strong-hold for the group fighters operating in lower Juba region.

Somali Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi congratulated the Army’s success in bringing Bula-haji under government control, saying that his government will deliver basic services including education, health and peace to the community in Bula-haji like liberated areas in the country.

The fall of Bula-haji under SNA and Jubaland State forces came a day after Al-Shabaab carried out deadly dawn attack on SNA base in Ceel-Dheer town in Galgudud region under Galmudug State in Somalia and claimed killing 59 solders.
