Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army Chief, Ibrahim Sh. Muhudin said that the militant group of Al-Shabaab is facing offensive operations at several fronts and will be defeated, encouraging the army not to get disappointed by the group’s propoganda.

“The operations continue at major parts of two Shabelle regions, from Mogadishu to Marka, Afgoye to Balcad while other forces moved from Jowhar. Now the forces are opening the en-routes among those regions. You know army started the operation from Mogadishu liberated areas along the way to Km-50 “, Ibrahim told SNA contingent based in Middle Shabelle region yesterday during Iftar event.

He warned the forces against the group’s ambush attacks only, wishing them to defeat them.

SNA Chief’s speech comes a week after the Somali National Army lost control of at least five towns in Mudug and Galgudud regions where the group fighters recaptured them without resistance from the army immediately. It also came three days after Al-Shabaab carried out deadly attack on SYL hotel in Mogadishu.
