Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Al-Shabaab militants carried out deadly attack on the house of a community leader at Burdhere Said neighborhood in Daynile district west of the capital Mogadishu, killing him and his guard on spot overnight according to sources.

The assassinated elder was called Abdi Hassan Muhidin and he was killed in an ambush attack during midnight according to his family, despite efforts to counter the attackers that led the killing of one from the perpetrators who were said to be three in number.

Security sources confirmed that three members of Al-Shabaab were behind the attack, adding that one of them was killed while others were injured.

In another development, Al-Shabaab gunmen armed with pistols shot military officer dead in Kaaraan district north of the capital Mogadishu on Monday morning, the perpetrators took a pistol from the officer and escaped from the crime scene according to Police sources.

These insecurity incidents came two after police forces opened fire to demonstrators which left at least one person dead and others injured at Siinaay junction in Wardhigley district in Mogadishu.
